HAMPTON—Jeanne Sabina Higgins Alford, 77, left for Heaven, Aug. 22, 2003. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Benjamin Brand, and her daughter-in-law, Cheri Alford.

            Jeanne was a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker and servant of God. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Portsmouth (now St. Paul’s) and a faithful member and volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Buckroe for 45 years.

            She is survived by her devoted husband and mate of 58 years, William J. Alford Jr.; her sons, Joe Alford of Yorktown, Thomas J. Alford of Hampton and Stephen M. Alford of Niceville, Fla., and her beloved daughter, Bonnie Alford-Restaino of Suffolk; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Loretta Fleming of Pittsburgh, Pa.

            A Christian Wake Service will be conducted 7 p.m. Wednesday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton…. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church…. Arrangements are being provided by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive in Hampton.
