AAFA NOTES: SSDI records show that Hollis W. Alford (SS# issued in TX) was born 24 Dec 1921, last residence Hemphill, Sabine Co., TX.

We included the obituaries of his wife, Margaret Arliene Ferguson Alford; and his grandson Mitchell Lee Alford in Texas Obituaries.

Hollis was the son of Elton Clyde Alford and Viola Sawyer. Elton was the son of Julius Caesar Alford and Melissa Anderson.

Hollis and Arliene were regulars at AAFA meetings as long as his health would permit. Those who were at the meetings in Houston, TX, Jackson, MS, or Destin, FL will remember them. They were registered for the St. Francisville meeting but had to cancel. It was the same for the Richmond, VA meeting, but sons Roy and Dave did attend as they had at previous meetings. Wife Arliene and sons remain active in AAFA, but Hollis will be missed.

            His lineage: Hollis Wilton 1921 TX1, Elton Clyde 1894 TX2, Julius Caesar 1864 TX3, Marmaduke 1833 AL4, John 1801 NC5.
