            Alford, Inez Newsom—Died 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, 1993, in Gonzales. She was 89, a native of Maringouin and resident of Gonzales.

            Private funeral services Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Carlton McDowell. Burial in Lusk Cemetery, Gonzales.

            Survived by husband, Gilbert K. Alford, Gonzales; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty A. and Reubin Wells, Gonzales; a son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert K. Jr. and Mary Alford, Florrisant, Mo.; five grandchildren, Cathy W. Banks, Mary Beth W. Brammer and Timothy K. Wells, April L. Spiro and Mary I. Tedder; 10 great-grandchildren, Sherri B. and Benjamin L. Banks, Jeremy W. and Megan E. Brammer, Lindsay J. and Taryn L. Wells, Jessica L. Tedder, Nicolas S., Candice L. and Jaclyn M. Spiro.

            Preceded in death by parents, J.C. and Georgia Newsom ; four brothers, Warren, Leroy, Huey and J.C. Newsom Jr.; two sisters, Nina Ferguson and Fannie Mae Hicks.

            She was a member of Order of Eastern Star. Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, in charge of arrangements.
