            Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 31, 2000, Gale Johnson Belser, wife of Dr. Ritchie Hugh Belser, residence Edisto Island [Colleton Co.], SC. The relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Ritchie Hugh Belser are invited to attend the memorial services of the latter at the graveside in Trinity Episcopal churchyard, Saturday, September 2, 2000 at twelve noon. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. downtown chapel.

            Mrs. Belser was born March 19, 1920 in Columbia, SC, a daughter of J. Carroll Johnson and Janet Henry Johnson. She was an Executive Secretary with Columbia Merchant Association before her marriage to Dr. Belser. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Edisto Island, the Junior League of Charleston. The Carolina Assembly and The National Society of the Colonial Dames in the Sate of South Carolina. She was a founder and member of the Board of Directors of Trident Academy. She attended Winthrop College and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she was a member of the Delta Sorority.

            She is survived by her husband of Edisto Island; a son Ritchie H. Belser, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters; Carroll Belser-Gauthreaux of Pendelton, SC and Gale B. Thompson of Charleston, SC and three grandchildren….
