Dothan, Houston Co., AL—1 February 2008

 

            Pauline Browning Ward, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Flowers Hospital. She was 87.

            Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Falgout officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until service time on Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be sent to your charity of choice.

            Pauline was born July 4, 1920, in Clay County to James and Lanie Browning. She worked for many years in finance and accounting at Fort Bragg, N.C., prior to her retirement. She has lived in Dothan for the past four years. She enjoyed quilting, reading and genealogy.

            Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Coleman Browning and Holdridge Browning

            Survivors include four sons, Lance Ward and his wife, Cherry, Dothan, Kirk Ward, Carrollton, Texas, Mark Ward, St. Paul, N.C., and Tim Ward, Lake Wylie, S.C.; one daughter, Lynn Zimmerman, Hammond, Ind.; two sisters, Verdie Gay Coleman, Fayetteville, Ga., and Algalene Sheppard, Wedowee; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 15 nieces and nephews.
