The following Bible records were found in published sources at the TN State Library and Archives or sent to AAFA by the named source.

From MAURY COUNTY COUSINS: BIBLE AND FAMILY RECORDS, compiled by the Maury County, Tennessee Historical Society, Second Printing, 1978, pages 494 and 495:

[The Alford mentioned in the following record was evidently the sister of a daughter-in-law of Absolom Alexander and she must have entered her siblings when the Bible was passed to her--Mollie Hampton (who married Mack Keller Alexander). Not all entries are copied here although AAFA has the total published record.]

Married Sunday morning August 8, 1880, Mack K. Alexander to Mollie Hampton, all of Lawrence Co. TN

BIRTHS

Mack K. Alexander was born July 27, 1855, in Lawrence Co. TN
Mollie S. Alexander, wife of Mack K. Alexander, was born March 8, 1863, in Williamson Co. TN
[the following two were apparently parents of Mollie S. and P. Ella Hampton]
Cary D. Hampton was born Aug. 12, 1835 in Williamson Co. TN
Sue H. Hampton was born Nov. 26, 1842 in Bedford Co. TN
P. Ella Hampton was born April 7, 1866 in Williamson Co. TN

DEATHS

Mrs. Sue Hampton died Nov. 16, 1908. 'Our Mother has gone so far from us, but she is not forgotten'

Cary D. Hampton died Nov. 9, 1916. ' Father is sweetly resting after a life of 81 years'

Ella Hampton Alford died Dec. 9, 1919. 'Sweet sister rest sweetly; we will meet you some day'.

AAFA NOTES: Ella Hampton married William James Alford, son of Robert Newton Alford and Martha Ann Edmiston, in Lawrence Co. TN on Dec. 21, 1892. They had no children. See page 65 of AAFA ACTION, Summer, 1997. They lived in Lawrence Co., TN. After she died in the influenza epidemic of 1918/1919, he married Mary Scott in December, 1924. He lived until 1951 when he died at the age of 86. Ella's date of birth given in the Bible record differs from that in the Summer 1997 AAFA ACTION, p.65 in "Lawrence County, Tennessee, Alfords: Part 5," which gives her birth date as Aug. 3, 1880.
