        The AAFA Data Manager has now installed the capability for you to submit new cemetery entries and revisions to existing cemetery records. Numbers on the 2nd line in some cell below is to give an order of magnitude.  The figures are as of about 18 September 2011 unless noted otherwise.  An asterisk means a later count. The meaning of the letter designation of the numbers is:

C is count of records in computer database.
F is count of only "Alford" at FindAGrave.
O is the size of the state obituary compilation file as counts are not practical.  Size can be misleading because of the vast difference in obits and the use of photographs in some.
S is the count of "Alford" in the SSDI when searching based on state of last residence.  A significantly different list will return from an inquiry based on state of SSN issue.

Note that some of the above are based only on Alford but a complete cemetery unit includes all spelling variations such as Alvord, Alfred, Halford, Olford, etc.
