WILL OF ELIZABETH ALFORD
In the name of God Amen. I Elizabeth Alford of the county of Johnston and State
of North Carolina, being in ill health of body
but sound of mind memory and understanding praise be unto God for his blessings,
Do make this my last will and Testament in
manner and form following to wit
First that my Executor hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent
burial and pay all funeral expenses, together with
my just debts to whomsoever owing out of the first moneys that may come into
his hands as a part or parcel of my Estate.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Nephew Josiah Edwards One town lot in the village
of Princeton opposite the lot now owned
by Sandy Braswell and adjoining the lot belonging to D. H. Massey.
Item. I give and bequeath to my niece Sarah Ann Stallings wife of Caswell Stallings,
the town lot adjoining the lot given to
Josiah Edwards and adjoining lots owned by Henry Holt in the Village of Princeton.
Item. I give and bequeath to Lucy A. Talton wife of Curtis Talton One Bed,
Bedstead and the necessary bed clothes for one
bed, and one large rocking chair.
Item. I give and bequeath to my sister Sophie Edwards the sum of Five Dollars
in cash.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Sister, Sally Edwards the sum of Five Dollars
in cash.
Item. I give and bequeath to the heirs of Robert Edwards my deceased brother
the sum of Five dollars.
Item. I give and bequeath to Dr. James Hay, his heirs and assigns forever all
my other property, both real and personal and
mixed of whatsoever nature or kind and wherever the same may be at the time
of my death.
Lastly I do nominate and constitute and appoint E. J. Holt Executor of this
my last will and Testament and do hereby revoke
and make void all and every will and testament heretofore made by me and do
declare this to be my last will and Testament.
In witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Alford have hereunto set my hand and
seal this the 27th day of January 1883.
