AAFA Wills
WILL OF JOHN BUNYAN ALFORD
I, John Bunyan Alford, a resident citizen of Choctaw County, Mississippi, being
over the age of 81 years, of sound and
disposing mind, memory and understanding, realizing the uncertainty of life,
and desiring to dispose of all my property by will,
do hereby revoke all former Wills and Codicils, and do hereby make, publish
and declare this to be my Last Will and
Testament in the following form, to-wit:
FIRST. I hereby nominate and appoint Maxie E. Whitmire, to be the executor
of my estate, expressly requesting and providing
that no bond be required of him in such capacity, and that no inventory, appraisement
or accounting to any Court shall be
required of him in the administration of my estate, all being hereby expressly
waived.
SECOND. I direct that all my just debts and the expenses of my funeral, burial
and marker for grave be paid as soon after my
death as is practicable.
THIIRD. I bequeath unto my niece, Ruth Sloan, of Memphis, Tennessee, the sum
of $2,000.00 in cash, which she is requested
to use to take care of her mother as she sees fit.
FOURTH. I bequeath unto my niece, Louise Alford, of West Point, Mississippi,
the sum of $1,000.00 in cash, this bequest is
made for I feel that she spent that much taking care of her mother.
FIFTH. I hereby bequeath and devise unto Jack Sloan, my nephew, and his wife,
Elizabeth Sloan, of Greenville, South
Carolina, all land of which I die seized and possessed, the income from and/or
the proceeds from the sale of which I request
that they use for the higher education of their children and at their discretion.
SIXTH. I hereby bequeath unto Mary Whitmire and Addie Whitmire my electric
deep freeze.
SEVENTH. I hereby bequeath unto my niece, Nellie Whitmire, my electric washing
machine.
EIGHTH. I bequeath my automobile to Mary Edna Whitmire.
NINTH. To the French Camp Academy of French Camp, Mississippi, I bequeath the
balance of cash money, after paying the
bequests heretofore made herein and the cost of the administration of my estate.
TENTH. To my brother, James B. Alford, I devise and bequeath all the balance
of my property not herein above mentioned.
Eleventh. I request that attorney, Jack B. Carlisle, __________ the remainder
of my estate.

CERTIFICATE
We, Jack B. Carlisle and Clarence E. Dykes, the two above subscribing witnesses
to the Last Will and Testament of John
Bunyan Alford, hereby certify that we signed said will as subscribing witnesses
at his special instance and request, in his
presence and in the presence of each other.
