WILL OF ZINA ALFORD
In the name of the Benevolent father of all
I Zina Alfred of Hancock County Ohio do make and publish this my last Will
and testament.
Item first I give and devise to my wife in lieu of her dower the farm on which
we now reside. Situate in the County of Hancock
and State of Ohio containing forty six acres during her natural life and all
the stock, household goods, furniture, provisions, and
other goods and chattles which may be there on at the time of my decease during
her natural life as aforesaid. She however
selling so much thereof as may be sufficient to pay my Just debts at the death
of my said wife, the real estate aforesaid I give
and devise to my son Allen Alfred and his heirs after paying to my son Charles
Alfred One hundred dollars and to my son
William Alfred one hundred dollars and to my daughter Maryann Cod fifty dollars
and to my daughter Aurilla Dawson fifty
dollars and to my daughter Hannah Henderson fifty dollars and to my grand daughter
Eleeta Alfred five dollars.
Item second I also allow my son Allen Alfred three years to pay the above mentioned
somes of money after the death of my
said wife.
Item third Should My Son Allen Alfred leave the farm above mentioned before
my death or the death of my wife he then
forfeits his right to the above and Shall Share equal with the rest of my heirs.
Item fourth After the death of my wife all the personal property that may be
on the farm I bequeath to my son Allen Alfred
provided he remains on the farm till that time if not it is to be divided equal
between my heirs.
I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.
In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this____ day of April
A. D. 1857.

Signed acknowledged by Said Zina Alfred as his last will and testament in hour
(sic) presence and Signed by us in his presence.

PROBATE OF WILL
State of Ohio, Hancock County, ss.
Testimony, Taken in the Probate Court in and for said County in proof of the
last Will and Testament of Zina Alford, late of
said County, deceased.
On this 19 day of December, A. D. 1872, personally appeared, in open Court,
Henry Kampf and John Graham the
subscribing witnesses to the last Will and Testament of said Zina Alford, deceased,
bearing date on the ____ day of April, A.
D. 1857, and being duly sworn and examined, depose and say that they were present
at the execution of the said last Will and
Testament of Zina Alford hereto attached; that they saw the said testator subscribe
said Will, and heard his (him?)
acknowledge his signature, and that the said testator, at the time of executing
the same, was of full age and of sound mind and
memory, and not under any restraint; and that they signed the same, as witnesses,
at his request, and in his presence, and in the
presence of each other.

Which said testimony was reduced to writing, subscribed and sworn to by said
witnesses, in open Court, the day and year first
